Drawing more than 2500 delegates from across the globe, this premier event emphasizes the future of technology and the boundless opportunities for innovation that lie ahead.

The selection of Kuching, Sarawak as the host city propels it into the limelight as one of the eminent destinations for WCIT, a global catalytic platform owned by WITSA, the World Information Technology and Services Alliance.

"We are thrilled to see the 27th World Congress on Innovation and Technology 2023 take place in Kuching, a city brimming with potential and charm. This choice reflects our ongoing mission to spotlight emerging tech hubs across the world," remarked WITSA Chairman Dr Sean Seah. "With the continual rapid advancement in technology, such gatherings are pivotal in fostering collaboration and ensuring we remain at the forefront of innovation."

Echoing his sentiments, WITSA CEO Dato’ Dan E Khoo said, "Malaysia has consistently showcased its prowess in catalyzing global tech, making it no surprise that this is the third time the nation has been trusted with the WCIT mantle. The atmosphere, energy, and potential in Kuching, Sarawak are palpable, and we look forward to an enriching, productive and inspirational experience."

The global platform, launched by the Sarawak Premier, The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, records Malaysia as host to WCIT for the 3rd time after WCIT 2008 and WCIT 2022.

At the launch ceremony, WITSA also extended its profound gratitude to the Sarawak Government for its generous hospitality as the host of this grand global tech platform. Special appreciation was also acknowledged to the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) for their impeccable role as the organizer and to Host Association PIKOM, the National Tech Association of Malaysia, for their vital contribution as Host Association of WCIT 2023.

PIKOM Chairman Mr CS Ong also shared his sentiments, “Congratulations to the State of Sarawak for successfully organizing a world-class Technology and Innovation event. PIKOM is proud to be associated with the event and has galvanized our 1,000 members and its regional affiliates around the region to, directly and indirectly, support the event. Apart from the content, the networking and potential business opportunities are what drive PIKOM to arrange delegates and exhibitors to attend WCIT almost every year. PIKOM had the honor of organizing WCIT 2022 in Penang and for this year, we support WCIT|IDECS 2023 as the Host Association.  We would like to thank WITSA for giving Malaysia the opportunity to host WCIT for 2 consecutive years and SDEC for a great job in putting together an event of this stature.
