WITSA Membership Procedures Informal Explanatory Note
In accordance with the WITSA Bylaws, applications for new membership must be made in writing to the Secretariat and should contain material which supports the association's claim that it best represents the interests of information technology and services industry in its country or region. New members will only be admitted with the approval of two-thirds of the members present at a General Assembly or with the approval of two-thirds of the overall members of the Steering Committee.
Membership of the WITSA is open to the one association which best represents the interests of information technology and services companies in its country or region.
The application (format is optional) should describe the applicant association's size, composition, and activities (i.e. list of members and their percentage of its IT market, meeting documents, etc.). The application letter should be addressed to the WITSA Chairman (ref. address below). As a time-saving measure, we ask that the application also be e-mailed to Senior Program Manager Anders Halvorsen (ahalvorsen@itaa.org). A list of our current members is available here.
Annual membership dues is based on the size of the applicant association's market, not the size of the association's membership. For most WITSA members, the annual dues are US $250 or $500. For some members, representing larger markets, the dues are higher.
It is expected that a representative of the association give a brief presentation at the Steering Committee or General Assembly meeting which is scheduled to vote on its membership application (either by staff or Board member or other person associated with the association).
