WITSA Membership Procedures

Informal Explanatory Note

 

In accordance with the WITSA Bylaws, applications for new membership must be made in writing and should contain material which supports the association's claim that it best represents the interests of information technology and services industry in its country or region. New members will be admitted with the approval of two-thirds of the members present at a General Assembly or with the approval of two-thirds of the overall members of the Board of Directors. 

 

Membership of the WITSA is open to the one association which best represents the interests of information technology and services companies in its country or region. A list of our current members is available here. 

 

The membership request (preferably in MS Word or PDF on the association’s letterhead) should describe the applicant association's year of formation, size, composition, and activities. The application letter should be addressed to the WITSA Chairman (ref. address below). In addition, the letter (or annex) should include:

 

1.       Official address and contact information of the organization (address, phone, fax, email, URL)

2.       A primary and secondary contact for WITSA related matters

3.       A finance contact (if applicable)

4.       A public relations/media contact (if applicable)

5.       Brief profile of the organization

6.       Brief description of the association’s activities and programs

7.       List of members

8.       Current Board of Directors

9.       Any other relevant information

  

Upon receiving the membership request, we will consult with our Regional Vice Chairman (ref. list).

 

Annual membership dues is based on the size of the applicant association's market. For most WITSA members, the annual dues are US $250 or $500 (to be prorated at the time of membership). For some members, representing larger markets, the dues are higher.

 

It is expected that a representative of the association give a brief presentation at the Board of Directors meeting or General Assembly meeting which is scheduled to vote on the membership application.
