John has been engaged in the ICT industry for more than four decades, mainly in technical roles in Bermuda. He joined NCR Limited in 1977 and was based both in Glasgow and in their European manufacturing headquarters in Dundee, Scotland. His primary responsibility was to repair and maintain large mainframe computer systems. He joined the local NCR distributor (Bermuda Business Machines Ltd – BBM), which was the largest local computer vendor at the time, in a similar role before moving to Operating System and Database support – eventually rising to the role of Deputy General Manager with responsibility of seventy full time technical staff. He left BBM in 1990 to form Gateway Systems Limited and grew the company to a team of over forty technical professionals. He has been associated with the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, Business Technology Division for over thirty years in various roles and orchestrated their joining WITSA in 2007. He has served on the BOD of WITSA since 2010.
