This webcast will be a hands on approach to making websites compliant with World Wide Wed Consortium's Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P). This presentation is hosted in cooperation with the Global Internet Project and special thanks to the Center for Democracy & Technology.
About Josh Freed
Mr. Freed coordinates outreach efforts to provide government, private sector and
non-profit organizations with the tools to adopt and implement the Platform for
Privacy Preferences (P3P), a framework for Web privacy designed to allow
consumers to customize their Internet privacy preferences. He will also oversee
P3P and other privacy technology education programs for IEF.
Prior to joining the IEF, Mr. Freed worked in the New York and Washington, DC offices of BSMG Worldwide, an international public affairs and media strategy firm. At BSMG, he provided strategic issues management and public affairs counsel for corporate and non-profit clients, including several high-tech and Fortune 500 companies. He has also served as Deputy Director of Research for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and as an associate at SCN Public Relations, a Washington, DC and San Francisco-based consulting firm.
A graduate of Brandeis University, Mr. Freed also holds an M.A. in American History from the University of Maryland, College Park. He currently resides in Washington, DC.
