WITSA is proud to stand with over 200 global industry and civil society organizations in calling for a permanent World Trade Organization (WTO) commitment to maintain the Moratorium on Customs Duties on Electronic Transmissions. This issue is vital for the global tech industry because the Moratorium ensures the regulatory predictability essential for long-term digital investment, innovation, and the integration of cross-border supply chains. By keeping the internet free from customs duties, we empower Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) to reach global markets and support the economic diversification of developing nations. As digitally delivered services now account for 54 percent of global services exports, making this moratorium permanent will ensure that digital trade remains a key driver of growth and opportunity for all.
